The Speed of News

Andrew Schneider is the business news reporter for KUHF Houston Public Radio. His work appears every weekday with the local news coverage on Morning Edition. On Friday mornings, he hosts the Bauer Business Focus, an interview program featuring business leaders and academics discussing issues affecting the Houston business community. NPR broadcast Andrew's reporting on the R. Allen Stanford fraud trial and on the tenth anniversary of Enron's collapse to a national audience. The BBC World Service and Voice of Russia have carried his work globally. For the past year, he has also appeared on television as Houston correspondent for PBS's Nightly Business Report. Prior to joining KUHF, Andrew worked for eleven years as a print reporter for The Kiplinger Letter in Washington, D.C. He wrote on the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, the rise of China as an economic superpower, and the global financial meltdown. He holds a B.A. in history from the University of Chicago and an M.A. in history from Duke University.
