Clements High School Orchestra

Established in 1990, the Clements High School Orchestras are comprised of over 150 students in grades 9-12. We are a co-curricular program featuring five preforming string orchestras, one fundamentals string orchestra, and a full symphony formed in conjunction with the Clements Symphonic Band. Our favorite colors are hues of blue and white or concert black, and we strive to embody ownership and accountability, personal musical growth, musical growth of our ensembles, and program stewardship.

String classes meet daily for fifty minutes, and may have one two hour rehearsal per week as needs dictate. The symphony meets once a week for two hours from January until their Pre-UIL and UIL performances in March.

The performing string orchestras have four co-curricular performances per year, and two or three adjudicated/competitive performances. The adjudicated/competitive performances include:

Texas Music Educators Association Honor Orchestra (Full and String)

University Scholastic League Concert and Sight Reading Contest

Regional or National festivals

All of the performing ensembles have a distinguished long and distinguished record of success under the batons of Michael Fleming (1990-1998), Penelope Meitz (1998-2006), Dixie Addington (2006-2007), and Ginger Wolfe (2007-present).
