The Wonder and Inspiration of Entrepreneurship
Walter Ulrich is president and CEO of the Houston Technology Center. The Houston Technology Center (HTC) is the largest non-profit technology business incubator/accelerator in Texas and the center for technology entrepreneurship on the Texas Gulf Coast. Named by Forbes as one of ten technology incubators changing the world, the HTC is the nexus of entrepreneurship in the Houston region and provides in-depth management guidance, business planning assistance, introductions to capital providers, entrepreneurial education and a wide array of services to emerging technology client companies. Walter Ulrich served as one of 17 founding members of the Texas Emerging Technology Fund Committee that is responsible for awarding $370 million to foster the commercialization of innovative emerging technology within the State of Texas. Prior to joining the Houston Technology Center, he was CEO of several technology companies and an executive with two major global management consulting firms. He serves on several Boards and is active in major community organizations. Early in his career, he was responsible for the development of the first successful email service and he founded a major regional IT strategy consulting firm. He is a loving husband, father and grandfather. He has a master and bachelors degree from Stevens Institute of Technology and served proudly in the US Marine Corps (Semper Fi).
